W służbie dialogu z odbiorcą: parafrazowanie i jego wykładniki

The paper presents various ways of paraphrasing understood as a process of the expression of the same meaning via other words. Collected material shows a wide range of phenomena in the examined corpus of temporary press statements, wealth and the multi-directionality metatekstual expressions by which speakers signal the transition to the paraphrase. This has to do with the general function of paraphrasing which is a rhetorical technique in support of the process of the interpretation of the tekst. The added value is a revival of communication and increase confidence in the dialogue partner, as well as confidence to the language as a medium capable of expressing reality.
