Grzech i kara w nauczaniu księdza Józefa Stagraczyńskiego w świetle kazań "Biblioteki kaznodziejskiej. Czasopisma poświęconemu kaznodziejstwu" (t. IX) [Przyczynek do badań polskiego kaznodziejstwa XIX wieku]

The subject of this paper is to show how the Polish nineteenth-century preaching understood the concept of sin and punishment. The author referred to the source material as they are the sermons of Father Joseph Stagraczyńskiego. Also raised the question: how should they return to the contemporary preaching. The proclamation of this period is characterized by a sharp preacher of the word of God. The preacher is not seen as a witness or participant of the daily life of the faithful, but as the guardian of souls. So it is not a good shepherd, but strict teacher. In light of the analyzed sermons the greatest threats to contemporary people were uncleanness, drunkenness, misconduct children against parents, false testimony, staying in sin, dancing and having fun. However, the inevitability and severity of the punishment for the sinful life in the form of the eternal torments of hell, combined with the extraordinary plasticity of communication, aroused certainly intended by the preacher anxiety. Now, however, the word of God requires a real concern to the listener - not objurgation, a preacher needs definitely other ways of leading of souls than in the nineteenth century. Today's proclamation of the Good News, where is undoubtedly a place for sin and punishment, should lead to the love of God and neighbor. Because the essence of faith is not fear, but love.

Das Thema dieses Aufsatzes ist zu zeigen, wie das polnische Predigen im neunzehnten Jahrhundert das Konzept der Sünde und Strafe verstand. Der Autor bezeichnet das Ausgangsmaterial, das die Predigten von Pater Joseph Stagraczyńskiego sind. Die Frage ist: wie soll diese Formel zur zeitgenössischen Predigt zurückkehren. Die Verkündigung dieser Zeit wird vom scharfen Prediger des Wortes Gottes geprägt. Der Prediger ist nicht als Zeuge oder Teilnehmer des täglichen Lebens der Gläubigen, sondern als Hüter der Seelen gesehen. So ist er nicht ein guter Hirte, aber strenger Lehrer. Im Lichte der analysierten Predigten die größte Bedrohung für die zeitgenössischen Menschen waren Unreinheit, Trunkenheit, Fehlverhalten Kinder gegen Eltern, falsches Zeugnis, Bestehen in der Sünde, Tanzen und Spaß zu haben. Stagraczyński unterstreicht die Unausweichlichkeit und die Schwere der Strafe für das sündige Leben in Form des ewigen Hölle, was zusammen mit der außerordentlichen Plastizität der Kommunikation, sicher eine grosse Angst erregte. Nun erfordert aber das Wort Gottes ein echtes Anliegen für die Leute - nicht Tadel, darum der Prediger andere Möglichkeiten der Erziehung der Seelen als im neunzehnten Jahrhundert haben muss. Die Verkündigung der Frohen Botschaft, wo zweifellos ein Ort für Sünde und Strafe ist, soll zu der Liebe Gottes und des Nächsten führen. Das Wesen des Glaubens ist doch keine Angst, aber Liebe.
