Geneza i recepcja "Genealogii" Włodzimierza Dworzaczka

The subject matter of this article is to study (mainly basing on preserved epistolary sources) and present the way which led to the creation and publication of "Gemealogy" by professor Dworzaczek, a coursebook which up to the present day plays a prominent role among genealogical publications. The issue is discusssed with regard to the background and biographical circumstances showing the formation of the proffesor's genealogical interest, his contribution towards the development of this auxiliary branch of history, as well as the hindered publishing process of this work. Because of the imposed word limit the reception of book was presented with less detail, limiting itself only to the indication of the most important opinions expressed in letters and by the circles interested in the book
