The purpose of this article is to highlight the current state and prospects of development of higher technical education in Poland in the context of European integration processes. It is shown that modernization of the system of training of engineering personnel in the Republic of Poland was possible thanks to the timely updating and continuous improvement of the regulatory framework, in particular permanent updating of the Law "On higher education". It is argued that an essential step to a clear structuring of the national system of higher education, including technical, has become the definition in article 3 of the Law of 2005 of the requirements of the official titles of the universities. In particular, the technical university could be called only institution that had the right to confer doctoral degree with at least 8 technical specialties. The structure of higher technical education in Poland is characterized, which includes various types of public and non-public universities, where the vast majority of the polytechnics, in particular Bialystock, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Rzeszowski, Koszalin, Krakow, Lodz, Lublin, Opole, Poznań, Swensk, Częstochowa and Slask polytechnics. Technical universities on the website of the Ministry of science and higher education of Poland include two public universities (West Pomeranian University of Technology Szczecin and the newly created Kazimierz Pulaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom), and two specialized academies (Technical and humanistic Academy in Blesku-Biała and AGH University of Science and Technology), as well as 10 non-public higher technical schools, among which there are also two-profile (several technical-economic, technical-natural and pedagogical-technical). It is noted that the founding organizations and programs (conference of rectors of Polish technical universities, Accreditation Commission of technical universities, the Programs of mobility of students of technical universities) can improve the quality of educational services, and financial support of academic mobility of future engineers is carried out mainly by the state.
