The purpose of the article is to analyze the concepts of “competence”, “teacher’s professional competence” by definitions of native and foreign researchers; realization of comparative analysis of the experience of world countries the main idea of which consists in formation of teacher’s key competencies; detailed definition of the concept of “teacher’s professional competence”. In particular, it is possible to generalize that development of professional competence is a dynamic process of learning and modernization of professional experience, which provides the development of individual professional qualities, accumulation of professional experience that provides continuous development and self-perfection. Introduction of competence approach in the preparation of future teachers allows not only applying for the knowledge and skills but also forms the ability to practical activity in specific professional situations, creative decision of the professional problems and also allows to navigate easily in professional environment. Such approach provides a high level of preparation and adaptation of specialists for realization creative plans in educational process. The most effective way to acquire professional competences by the future teachers is to work directly with students during the production of the professional practice, when students are given the right to work independently, but under the control of the head of the methodological practice, to solve professional tasks of different levels of complexity, to carry out teaching activities not theoretically but in real pedagogical situations, to identify the future prospects for their own professional development. It is identified that one of the effective ways of forming professional competences is the use of didactics possibilities of the innovative heuristic study in preparation of the future teachers. In this article the wide tool of heuristic studies which provides achievement of the put purpose is presented. The experimental investigation of didactic possibilities of heuristic study in the formation of professional competence of future teachers was proved due to stable and deep trust to creative potential of every student which contributes to informative and creative (searching, research, project, structural) activity, such teaching creates conditions for training future teachers at the level of professional competence. Prospects for further studies can be researches of other innovative pedagogical technologies, which provide the training of students at the level of professional competence.
