Place of research and development activity in the development policy of enterprises

In this article the author verifies the thesis that the popularity of investing in research and development activity (R&D) in enterprises operating in the Member States of the European Union is variable and diverse. The basis of such verification is a statistical-comparative analysis of the results of the empirical researches on innovative trends in EU companies. The study was conducted in February 2015 by TNS Political & Social in 28 Member States of the European Union, Switzerland and the United States. Analysis of the popularity of investing in R&D in enterprises is carried out in the following 3 dimensions: 1) the popularity of investing in R&D according to the country, 2) the popularity of investing in R&D according to the category of enterprises, 3) the volume of turnover invested in R&D according to country. The results of the studies confirmed the research thesis.

W artykule autor weryfikuje tezę, że powszechność inwestowania w działalność badawczo-rozwojową (B+R) w przedsiębiorstwach funkcjonujących w państwach członkowskich UE jest zmienna i zróżnicowana. Podstawę takiej weryfikacji stanowi analiza statystyczno-porównawcza wyników badań empirycznych na temat innowacyjnych trendów w przedsiębiorstwach unijnych. Badania zostały przeprowadzone w lutym 2015 r. przez TNS Political & Social w 28 państwach członkowskich oraz w Szwajcarii i USA. Analizy powszechności inwestowania w działalność badawczo-rozwojową w przedsiębiorstwach dokonano w trzech przekrojach: 1) powszechności inwestowania w B+R według kraju, 2) powszechności inwestowania w B+R według kategorii przedsiębiorstw, 3) wielkości obrotów inwestowanych w B+R według kraju. Prezentowane wyniki badań potwierdziły przyjętą tezę badawczą.
