Pierwsze formacje artylerii konnej Wojska Polskiego w polsko-ukraińskich bojach o Lwów i Małopolskę Wschodnią w okresie od grudnia 1918 r. do 1919 r.

Horse artillery formations were special formations intended as a permanent support of the cavalry and supporting it with fire. Therefore, batteries and squadrons of horse artillery were to be characterized by high mobility. Horse artillery of the Polish Army in the years 1918-1939 is already covered by quite extensive professional literature, although strongly differentiated in terms of substance. This makes it possible to attempt at making fair description of the whole number of aspects of the complex and at the same time interesting history. It seems, however, that despite the passing years and advancing research the origin of the early formation of this type, which appeared at the end of 1918 and in the first months of 1919 remains the least-known part, especially those which in the described period took part in battles over Lviv and Eastern Lesser Poland. There are still many uncertainties and further research sources are required. Therefore, the author attempts at presenting the course of the process concerning the creation of the first horse artillery formation of the Polish Army in 1918 in the former Polish Kingdom and in Galicia in the period between November 1918 and the spring of 1919. Author also presented the involvement in bloody and fierce struggles over Lviv and Eastern Lesser Poland with the troops representing Ukrainian Galician Army. The author hopes that this material will help to restore much fuller and more objective image of the original history of Polish artillery, as previous Polish historical literature on this issue had significant gaps.

Артиллерийские части были специальными частями, предназначенными для постоянной поддержки кавалерии и огневой поддержки. Таким образом, батареи и эскадроны конной артиллерии должны были характеризоваться высокой мобильностью. Конная артиллерия Войска Польского от 1918-1939 гг. сегодня имеет довольно обширную литературу, хотя сильно разнообразна с точки зрения существенной ценности. Возможным является описание целого ряда аспектов сложной и в то же время интересной ее истории. Однако, несмотря на прошедшие годы и продвижения исследований остается наименее известной темой, история формирования первых частей этого типа, которые появились в конце 1918 г. и в первые месяцы 1919 г., особенно те, в описываемом периоде, принимали участие в боях за Львов и Восточную Малопольшу. Поэтому они скрывают много неопределенностей и требуют дальнейших исследований источников. Поэтому, автор пытается представить процесс создания первых частей конной артиллерии войска польского в 1918 г. на территории бывшего Царства Польского и в Галиции в период между ноябрем 1918 г. а весной 1919 г. Появилось также участие в кровавых и жестоких боях за Львов и Восточную Малопольшу с войсками Украинской Галицкой армии. Автор надеется, что этот материал поможет представить полный и объективный образ истории конной польской артиллерии, потому что предыдущая польская историческая литература по этому вопросу имела существенные пробелы.
