The article presents changes in naming of flails and their parts determined by non -linguistic reasons such as development of agricultural technology. The materials collected by A. Tomaszewski from the 30ties, the studies of the experts working on Atlas języka i kultury ludowej Wielkopolski (70ties) and contemporary research unabled to show the dynamics and the degree of lexical changes. As the inform-ers were divided into age groups the mechanisms of the changes may be observed.
