Biblijny prorok wśród żuławskich barbarzyńców. Kreacja własnego „ja” pastorów w relacjach z parafianami. Luterańskie księgi kościelne jako samoświadectwa (XVII–XVIII wiek)
Lutheran parish books from the Vistula Delta region are egodocumentary sources that reveal a fascinating world of the inner life of pastors and their complex relations with their parishioners. Following the assumption that interpersonal relations were central to the individual in the early modern period, the author interprets the source text as an interaction. It turned out that the main point of reference for pastors was their parishioners. Being their priest was the life mission of the authors of the church books under study. However, peasants were not passive recipients of their teachings, but actively created the communal life, which often led to tensions. There was an inversion of the social hierarchy, where the person standing above was dependent on the group standing below. The analysis of the sources demonstrates the narrative strategies used by the authors of the church books in response to these conflict situations. The pastors created an image of themselves to justify their failures and prove that they were fulfilling their mission properly.
