Uzbekistan 24’ – Parliamentary Elections. Debate on Development Scenarios and Reconfiguration of the Model of Power

Reformy polityczne w latach 2021–2023 w Uzbekistanie obejmowały szereg wydarzeń, począwszy od wyboru głowy państwa, po których nastąpiła głęboka reforma konstytucyjna i referendum, prowadzące do przedterminowych wyborów prezydenckich. Cykl ten zakończył się zmianą systemu wyborczego na przełomie lat 2023–2024. W drugiej połowie 2024 r. odbyły się wybory do parlamentu i innych organów władzy przedstawicielskiej, otwierając nowy rozdział w budowie Nowego Uzbekistanu. W niniejszym opracowaniu autor wyjaśnia istotę reformy prawa wyborczego, jej wpływ na wybory parlamentarne i rekonfigurację modelu władzy. Skupia swoje badania przede wszystkim na działalności wyborczej partii politycznych w debacie nad strategią rozwoju Nowego Uzbekistanu do 2029 r.

The political reforms of 2021–2023 in Uzbekistan included a series of events, starting from the election of the head of state, followed by deep constitutional reform and a referendum, leading to the early presidential elections. This cycle concluded with a change in the electoral system at the turn of 2023–2024. In the second half of 2024, elections to the parliament and other bodies of representative power were held, opening a new chapter in the construction of New Uzbekistan. In this study, the author explains the essence of the electoral law reform, its impact on the parliamentary elections, and the reconfiguration of the model of power. He primarily focuses his research on the electoral activities of political parties in the debate on the development strategy of New Uzbekistan until 2029.
