In this chapter, the authors make an attempt at indicating the difficulties and specific strategies noted at particular stages in the development of verbal and non-verbal communication in blind children. Conducting a review of literature on the subject, they draw attention to the wide variances in descriptions of speech development and possible problems in this area observed in children with visual impairments.

W artykule autorzy dokonują próby wskazania trudności bądź specyficznych strategii notowanych na poszczególnych etapach rozwoju komunikacji werbalnej i niewerbalnej dzieci niewidomych. Dokonując przeglądu literatury przedmiotu, zwracają uwagę na duże zróżnicowanie opisów rozwoju mowy i ewentualnych problemów w tym zakresie obserwowanych u dzieci dotkniętych uszkodzeniem wzroku.
