Tanatos w cyklu „Tułacze” Mariny i Siergieja Diaczenków

The article presents hermeneutic considerations on the motif of death in the Wanderers series written by Marina and Sergey Dyachenko. The cycle is connected via a prevailing eschatological theme that fulfills more than the conative and entertainment functions. It serves as a pretext to reach for deeper symbolic layers, pose important questions about life, reflect on its essence and what is its most important aspect from the point of view of both an individual and all mankind. The subject of death is combined with making difficult choices, overcoming weaknesses, proving that the fate of the world may depend on the decisions of the individual as well as with the romantic and Christian ideas of self-sacrifice for others.
