The article contains an example of a lesson for foreigners learning Polish at level B2 (in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages – CEFR). The task for the participants of the classes is to improve the argumentation strategy in a situation of disagreement. Discussion as a form of communication touches on social reality and can manifest itself in various spheres of contact. The text analyzed with the students illustrates a private exchange of views on the ethics of war (which eristics – developed by Arthur Schopenhauer – transfers to the level of dispute). The lesson uses the concept of action-oriented teaching.
