Miasto na peryferiach. O czym opowiadają dworce kolejowe w Chebie?
The author analyses the role of the railway station in the town of Cheb (German: Eger). The course of its fate, as well as the functions it performed, provides interesting insight into the complicated Czech-German relations in the region. The case study further becomes an opportunity to answer questions concerning the role of railway stations as symbols of modernity on the one hand, and as sceneries in which given historical meanings are staged, on the other. The analytical material was gathered via online search queries as well as in the course of fieldwork in the region.
