Scientifiques en rébellion : ethos discursif du scientifique engagé dans la lutte pour le climat

This article focuses on the discursive representation of scientists engaged in civil disobedience for climate activism in 2022. This question will be examined through the notion of ethos, used in discourse analysis at the enunciative, lexical and discursive level (Amossy 1999, 2010, 2021, Maingueneau 1999, 2014, 2021, Rabatel 2020, Orikibi 2008). First, the discourses of scientist-activists were analyzed (Twitter, media), second The Call for Civil Disobedience, the founding text of the movement. The Scientist Rebellion was relevant to illustrate its collective ethos. It was observed that scientist-activist constructs his ethos on the same discursive strategies that climate activists have adopted to legitimate their arguments.
