A comprehensive volume entitled Między tekstem a kulturą. Z zagadnień interpretacyjnych [Between Text and Culture. On Interpretative Issues] edited by Aleksandra R. Knapik and Piotr P. Chruszczewski significantly aligns with contemporary reflection on broadly understood interpretation which seemed to have no limits (cf. Eco 1990; Eco, Rorty, Culler, Brooke-Rose 1992). Yet, it is the same Umberto Eco who seemed to be somewhat confused, if not terrified, by the very expansion of all kinds of overinterpretation or paranoid interpretations. However, the editors of this volume perceive the issue of interpretation not in its “excesses”, but rather in the broad scope of its occurrence.
