Druga Jesień. Stawanie się rękopisu

The author of the essay presents key figures and symbolic meanings which have shaped the literary and artistic project Second Autumn that has been dedicated to Bruno Schulz for over twenty years on the anniversary of his tragic death. The events of Second Autumn begin annually on November 19 with an ecumenical meeting at the place where Schulz was murdered. The Second Autumn is his only text, the manuscript of which survived and now continues to evolve through the activities of Second Autumn – one among countless forms of the author’s life after death – life in his work that is stronger than death. Second Autumn is a project-mission based on the idea of action dedicated both to Schulz and to all those who have been forever inscribed in the horizon of this mission, including, more recently, those who have given their lives in the war against the russian invader. The idea of action is also a symbolic act of awakening dormant needs to remember what is the most important and resists oblivion. According to Paul Ricœur, Schulz emerges in Second Autumn as a prophet who continues to speak and to remain a figure of crisis. In his writings, he left testimonies of terror. In the cycle Schulz. Psalms, Serhiy Zhadan speaks – both in Schulz’s and in his own name – of the helplessness and strength of the poet-prophet in the time of catastrophe.

Autorka eseju przedstawia kluczowe figury i znaczenia symboliczne, na których podstawie budowano projekt literacko-artystyczny Druga Jesień, od ponad dwudziestu lat dedykowany Brunonowi Schulzowi w rocznicę jego tragicznej śmierci. Wydarzenia Drugiej Jesieni corocznie rozpoczynają się 19 listopada od spotkania ekumenicznego w miejscu zamordowania Schulza. Druga jesień to jego jedyny tekst, którego rękopis ocalał i wciąż staje się w działaniach Drugiej Jesieni – jednej wśród niezliczonych form życia autora po śmierci – życia w jego dziele, które silniejsze jest od śmierci. Druga Jesień to projekt-misja oparty na idei działania poświęconego Schulzowi oraz wszystkim, kto na zawsze został wpisany w horyzonty tej misji, ostatnio także poległym na wojnie z rosyjskim najeźdźcą. Idea działania to również symboliczny akt przebudzenia uśpionych potrzeb pamiętania o najważniejszym, niepoddającym się zapomnieniu. W myśl Paula Ricœura Schulz objawia się w Drugiej Jesieni jako prorok, który wciąż mówi i wciąż pozostaje postacią kryzysu. W swoich tekstach pozostawił świadectwa grozy. W cyklu Schulz. Psalmy Serhij Żadan mówi – w jego i własnym imieniu – o bezsilności i sile poety-proroka w czasie katastrofy.
