Analiza równego dostępu do edukacji na przykładzie uczniów romskich w Chorzowie i Bytomiu

The article was prepared as part of the project: Promoting equal access to quality education for Roma children, implemented by Contact Point for Roma and Sinti Issues in Europe. The study consists of three parts. The first one concerns the basic information related to the analysis of the current state of knowledge on equal access to education of Roma children in Poland, the second – indicates the current statistical data on the education of Roma children, and the final part, which is a summary – presents the results of research and recommendations for practice in to improve communication between Roma parents and officials and teaching staff. The pilot study was aimed at identifying problems related to equal access to education of Roma children at the preschool and kindergarten level. They were conducted in Silesia – in Chorzów and Bytom – using the method of a structured interview. An interview with school principals, officials, and Roma’s parents revealed a significant need to build a bridge based on trust and fluent communication.

Artykuł przygotowano w ramach projektu: Promoting equal access to quality education for Roma children, realizowanego przez Contact Point for Roma and Sinti Issues w Europie. Opracowanie obejmuje trzy części. Pierwsza z nich dotyczy podstawowych informacji związanych z analizą dotychczasowego stanu wiedzy na temat równego dostępu do edukacji dzieci romskich w Polsce, druga – wskazuje na aktualne dane statyczne dotyczące edukacji dzieci romskich, natomiast końcowa część, będąca podsumowaniem – prezentuje wyniki badań i zalecenia do praktyki w zakresie polepszenia komunikacji między rodzicami romskimi a urzędnikami i kadrą pedagogiczną. Badanie pilotażowe miało na celu zidentyfikowanie problemów związanych z równym dostępem do edukacji dzieci romskich na poziomie przedszkola i klas zerowych. Przeprowadzono je na terenie Śląska – w Chorzowie oraz Bytomiu – metodą wywiadu ustrukturyzowanego. Rozmowa z dyrektorami szkół, urzędnikami oraz rodzicami romskimi wskazała na istotną potrzebę budowania mostu opartego na zaufaniu oraz płynnej komunikacji.
