Motives for choosing a course of study and educational and career plans of students of an agricultural technical school

This paper explores the factors that guide students when deciding whether or not to continue their education beyond secondary school. In the theoretical part, vocational orientation is presented and classified. A survey was carried out on 51 students studying at an agricultural technical school. Most respondents were male and attended classes I, II, III and IV. Most of the respondents came from schools in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. The results of the study showed that students of agricultural schools chose this type of institution due to the fact that their parents run a farm. However, low motivation for further education in this direction by the respondents was observed.
