Latin America is a region that combines, in a unique and thought-provok-ing way, the dichotomy of relative unity associated with history, culture, and shared challenges faced by most of its countries, and the profound political, social, and economic diversity, which is often eludes the foreign eye. Meanwhile, aware-ness of this diversity is vital for understanding the countless differences (social, economic, geopolitical...) between nations, and allows for a more refined analysis and drawing distinctions between nations such as Argentina, Mexico, or Brazil and Cuba, Guatemala, Peru and Uruguay, to name a few.
