Lifetime of single thin foam film – polyelectrolyte/surfactant mixture.
The data demonstrate the influence of surfactant concentration and the addition of polyelectrolyte on the formation and thinning of thin liquid film (TLF) formed during the collision between a rising bubble and a free surface at two different distances (1 cm and 10 cm). The attached data present foam height as a function of time for two types of experiments:
- pure surfactants: ethyl lauroyl arginate (LAE) and rhamnolipids (RH)
- polyelectrolyte/surfactant compositions:
- poly-L-glutamic acid (PGA)/ethyl lauroyl arginate (LAE) mixture
- poly-L-lysine (PLL)/rhamnolipids (RH).
The thinning dynamics of the foam thin film formed between colliding bubble and the free surface were monitored using the Dynamic Fluid-Film Interferometer (DFI).
