Cultural dimensions for Polish counties
The set of cultural dimensions for Polish counties obtained in the study that investigated the impact of cultural factors on Polish small and medium-sized companies (SMEs). Cultural dimensions include:
- power distance,
- individualism,
- uncertainty avoidance,
- masculinity vs. femininity,
- long-term orientation,
- indulgence.
Each cultural dimension was obtained through a factor analysis of variables that reflect opinions of Polish houshold members on cultural-related issues. The source data for the analysis comes from Social Diagnosis (www.diagnoza.com). Each cultural dimension is represented on a 0-1 scale and could be interpreted in a manner similar to Hofstede dimensions for national cultures.
The dataset includes 380 records (one for each Polish county), and the following columns:
- TERC - code of a county,
- POWIAT - county name,
- WOJEWODZTWO - voivodeship name,
- POWER_DISTANCE - power distance index,
- INDIVIDUALISM - individualism index,
- UNCERT_AVOID - uncertainty avoidance index,
- MASCULINITY_VS_FEMININITY - masculinity vs. femininity index,
- LONG_TERM_ORIENTATION - long-term orientation index,
- INDULGENCE - indulgence index.
