Cadmium and lead adsorption in soils of postglacial landscapes
This dataset contains adsorption isotherm parameters for Cd(II) and Pb(II) based on Freundlich and Langmuir models, as well as selected physical and chemical soil properties, for a set of soil samples collected from various geomorphological forms characteristic of postglacial landscapes. These postglacial landscapes include areas shaped during two stages of glaciation: the Bielsk Plain near Orla and the Nidzica Upland (Warta Glaciation – MIS 6), and the Masurian Lakeland (Vistula Glaciation – MIS 2–5). The sediments forming landforms differ in lithology, due to various glacial processes, source material origins, and post-depositional surface processes such as weathering and organic matter accumulation, leading to distinct physicochemical properties. shaped during various Pleistocene glaciations and glacial phases. Parameters include Freundlich constants (K, b) and Langmuir constants (Am, K), along with the determination coefficients (R²) indicating model fit. Soil properties comprise pH, organic matter content, particle size distribution (sand, silt, clay), CEC, calcium carbonate content, and Fe/Al ratio. The data support comparative analyses of sorption capacity across different landforms and are intended for use in environmental, agricultural, or geochemical research.
