Electrochemically induced release of a model dye from a pH-sensitive and electroactive microgel monolayer attached to an electrode surface
The collection contains experimental research data obtained during preparation of a novel electrochemically-induced release system consisting of a pH-responsive and electroactive microgel monolayer, based on acrylic acid and a ferrocene derivative, formed on a conductive electrode surface. The microgel's physical and chemical properties were thoroughly characterized using dynamic light scattering (DLS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and electrochemical techniques. The microgel attachment and dye incorporation processes were monitored using quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring (QCM-D) and the monolayer's morphology was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The electrochecemical properties was examined with cyclic voltammetry technique. The electro-induced dye release from microgel monolayer on the electrode surface was monitored with UV-Vis spectroscopy.
