This is research data for the publication entitled 'Hydrogen peroxide stabilization with silica xerogel for paper-based analytical devices and its application to phenolic compounds determination'. The goal of the presented research was to verify the hypothesis that silica xerogel can help to obain a long-term stable concentration of hydrogen peroxide on paper for the purpose of paper-based analytical devices/paper-based microfluidics. The data contain experiments aiming to optimize silica xerogel/hydrogen peroxide/paper composites preparation. In the optimal conditions, the concentration of hydrogen peorxide should remain stable for the longest time possible. Hydrogen peroxide concentratoion was measured using spectrophotometric method with 4-aminoantipiryne, 3,5-dichloro-2-hydroxybenzensulfonic acid and horseradish peroxidase. Xerogels deposited on paper were also visualized using Scanning Electron Microscopy in Low Vacuum mode. Obtained photos are provided in the dataset.

To prove analytical usefulness of the developed method of hydrogen peroxide stabilization, a paper-based analytical device for phenolic content determination was developed and validated. The dataset contains data obtained in the course of paper-based analytical device optimization experiments and validation with real fruit and wine samples.

These data were obtained in the course of Polish National Science Center project Preludium no. 2021/41/N/ST4/00299. The goal of this project is to explore possible scenarios of supplying paper-based microfluidics with hydrogen peroxide for the purpose of chemical analysis.
