Flexible Piezoresistive Polystyrene Composite Sensors Filled with Hollow 3D Graphitic Shells
As part of the publication, the hollow spherical three-dimensional graphitic shells (GS) were synthesized and used as fillers in polymer composites. The objective of this research was to develop highly effective conductive polymer composite materials for flexible piezoresistive sensors. The 3D graphitic shells (GS) were obtained through chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method with magnesium oxide (MgO) nanoparticles as a template, which was removed post-synthesis.
The collection includes data on material characteristics using various research methods, including transmission (TEM) and scanning (SEM) electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The materials were tested at each stage of synthesis, starting with initial material - MgO particles, after the CVD process - MgO@C and ending with the final product – 3D graphitic shells (GS), after acid etching of the template.
