Measurement cutting force data for micro end milling process

DESCRIPTION:

Provided here xlsx files contain data gathered during micro end milling experiments. The data are cutting force components measured with a 3-axis force dynamometer.

The dataset provides the outcome of the micro milling experiment conducted on Inconel 718 super alloy. The experiment has been conducted on ultra-precise prototype micromilling machine tool. The tests included the measurements of cutting force components in three axis, namely, Fz force, Fy force and Fx force (in Newtons). The conducted test has been carried out within the variable feed per tooth values (5 μm, 8 μm, 11 μm) and constant cutting speeds and axial depths of cut (axial depth of cut was of 80 μm and rotational speed was of 21 000 rev/min). For the each variable feed per tooth values, the dataset file has been created which contains a measured cutting force in a specified direction and 64 samples. The sampling frequency of a measured forces was of 204 800 Hz.

FILES:

Each of cutting force measurements has been repeated 64 times (acquired data are located in columns). These measurements were made for a constant feed per tooth value equal to 5 μm.

Each of cutting force measurements has been repeated 64 times (acquired data are located in columns). These measurements were made for a constant feed per tooth value equal to 5 μm.

4. "Fx_fz8um.xls" - This file contains measurement data of Fx cutting force instantaneous values, represented in Newtons. Each of cutting force measurements has been repeated 64 times (acquired data are located in columns). These measurements were made for a constant feed per tooth value equal to 8 μm.

5. "Fy_fz8um.xls" - This file contains measurement data of Fy cutting force instantaneous values, represented in Newtons. Each of cutting force measurements has been repeated 64 times (acquired data are located in columns). These measurements were made for a constant feed per tooth value equal to 8 μm.

6.Fz_fz8um.xls" - This file contains measurement data of Fz cutting force instantaneous values, represented in Newtons. Each of cutting force measurements has been repeated 64 times (acquired data are located in columns). These measurements were made for a constant feed per tooth value equal to 8 μm.
