Profiled delivery of bicarbonate during hemodialysis
This repository contains the data described in the article titled "Profiled delivery of bicarbonate during weekly cycle of hemodialysis".
Week 1 data are from patients undergoing a cycle of standard hemodialysis (HD), with 3 sessions during the week. Week 2 data are from the same patients undergoing a week of model-based intervention consisting in a stepwise increase in dialysate bicarbonate concentration after 2 hours.
The blood gas measurements were carried out with ABL90 Flex Plus (Radiometer).
Case label legend: Week, Session, Time of blood sample collection. E.g., measurements labeled "2,3,240" refer to Week 2, third HD session, sample collected at 240 minutes. Cases labeled with "HD4" refer to measurements carried out immediately before the first session of the following week, after the long break.
The data were collected as part of the project "Optimizing dialysate bicarbonate concentration during hemodialysis by mathematical modeling", funded by the Polish National Science Center (grant number 2017/27/B/ST7/03029).
