Analiza zagrożeń związanych z emisją metali ciężkich w aspekcie bezpieczeństwa ekologicznego na przykładzie ogródków działkowych w Warszawie

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań zawartości metali ciężkich w wierzchniej warstwie gleby oraz liściach sałaty, uznawanej za reprezentatywną, konsumpcyjną roślinę wskaźnikową, pochodzących z ogródków działkowych położonych pomiędzy dużymi arteriami komunikacyjnymi prawobrzeżnej Warszawy.

Intense emission of heavy metals originating from a dense network of roads, located on the heavily urbanized areas is the cause of their accumulation in soils and consumption plants. Excessively high concentrations of heavy metals in the samples of soil show their high bioavailability especially in the sampling points in the immediate vicinity of the Łazienkowska and Washington Street. It gives a rise to potential hazards that adversely affect the ecological safety. In order to ensure the environmental safety of the study area of allotments, it seems necessary to take steps for the protection of the active soil, involving the prevention of its degradation and rational land use.
