Introduction. Pregnancy is a special period in a woman's life. The main factor that has a major impact on its
course is the lifestyle of the pregnant woman. Its important element is physical activity, which brings with it
a number of positive benefits for the mother's body, whose overload increases with the development of pregnancy.
Aim. The aim of the study was to assess the physical activity as well as professional activity of pregnant women.
Material and methods. The study involved 174 pregnant women participating in childbirth classes. The study
was carried out from January to April 2019. The method was a diagnostic survey using the questionnaire technique,
and the tool was the author's questionnaire and a questionnaire on the physical activity of pregnant women
(PPAQ-PL). Statistical analyses were carried out in the Statistica program with the assumed significance level of
α = 0.05.
Results. General physical activity is significantly dependent on socio-demographic data such as: age (p = 0.0003),
education (p = 0.000001), marital status (p = 0.000001), and place of residence (p = 0.000002). Occupational
activity significantly depends on the overall physical activity and individual categories of physical activity.

impact on both professional and physical activity. A lower education or lower economic status was the
reason for the pregnant women resigning from their professional activity.
