The article focuses on dragons and their role in ancient Roman, Greek,Egyptian and Middle Eastern cultures. By analyzing their appearancein texts, the division into two main groups is made: the characteristic ofdragons and the function of the dragon motif. This may help in understandingthe origins, place and function of dragon motifs in the Bible.
