This article aims at presentation of important issues associated with obstetric aid for parturient queen. Physiological or pathological course of parturition plays a key role in feline reproduction. It determines to a great degree breeding success, providing live and viable newborns. Dystocia seems to be an essential cause of fetal and newborn death. Sometimes difficulty in delivery may be dangerous also for the mother. Therefore timely and adequate obstetric aid is so important. In most cases of feline dystocia, caesarean section is the only procedure used. However, the successful delivery is limited by the high percent of stillbirths. It is probably an effect of the overdue surgery. In many cases conservative clinician assistance is successful. It consists of manual manipulations and pharmacologic treatment. Despite of the form of chosen procedure, the time is a critical factor
for rewarding obstetric aid.
