Wojna sprawiedliwa w świecie współczesnym

War, which is one of the expressions of human activity, cannot be examined only from the political and legal perspective, but it requires moral and ethical assessment irrespective of its reasons, aims, motives, participants, ways of conducting warfare and comprehending the idea of victory. The paper presents a review of the idea of just war using a philosophical approach which constitutes the basis of the theory of just and unjust wars put forward by American philosopher Michael Walzer. The features of just wars which were to enhance peace are juxtaposed with the description of contemporary armed conflicts.
