Wpływ niektórych właściwości inicjalnych gleb na wzrost modrzewia europejskiego (Larix decidua Mill.) w warunkach rekultywowanego wyrobiska po eksploatacji piasku

Paper presents the results of research concerning the influence of properties of initial post−mine soils on the growth of European larch (Larix decidua Mill.) at a former sand excavation pit of the ‘Szczakowa’ Sand Mine (southern Poland) reclaimed 30 years ago. The growth parameters (d.b.h and mean height) depended on the properties of the initial soils at the reclaimed site, particularly on the grain size. The results obtained confirm the usefulness of this tree species for the afforestation of reclaimed former sand excavation sites in their parts built of sand deposits with larger admixtures of silt.
