The international humanitarian law regulates rights and obligations of participants in international and non-intemational armed conflicts. Violations of the law farmed conflicts constitute grounds for bringing individuals to justice before domestic and international courts. This paper briefly presents judicial institutions responsible for punishment of those who are liable for the most serious violations of to international humanitarian law.
Nuremberg, Tokyo, Hague and Arusha trials have significantly influenced the development of the international criminal law. Their activity laid foundations for the operation of the International Criminal Court and hybrid courts.
