Stanowisko badawcze do wizualizacji przepływu powietrza wokół izolowanego koła samochodowego
The following article presents a test stand built at the Institute of Turbomachinery of Lodz University of Technology to analyse the aerodynamic resistance of a rotating vehicle wheel. The main component of the stand is an aluminium frame together with polyurethane belt that has been stretched between two rollers. The belt drive and speed control were obtained by using an electric motor with an inverter. Velocity is continuously monitored using two laser sensors. The correct position of the tested model is achieved by using a measuring arm to stabilize the wheel. Test stand was placed in the aerodynamic tunnel and used for research related to the research of the air flow around the rotating wheel. For this purpose, stand was equipped with a set of cameras and a laser for PIV visualization.
