Według właścicielki zdjęcia przedstawia ono jej babcię w I klasie gimnazjum żeńskiego. Stoi ona w trzecim rzędzie jako druga z prawej strony

According to the owner of the photo, it shows her grandmother in first grade of a girls’ gymnasium. She is standing in the third row, the second from the right

On the other side of the photo the names of the students of the classes Ia and Ib as well as those of the teachers are listed

The photo shows four rows of girls with their teachers posing for the photo against a background of the wall of a building. The girls are dressed in smart clothes. The male teacher sitting among them is middle-aged, wears glasses and is dressed in a suit and a light-coloured shirt. On either side of him sit female teachers dressed in similar, humble, black dresses with high mandarin collars. The third teacher is standing aside the second row of girls She is dressed in a checked blouse and a long, dark-coloured skirt

The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)

Fotografia przedstawia cztery rzędy dziewcząt z nauczycielkami i nauczycielem pozujących do zdjęcia na tle ściany budynku. Dziewczęta ubrane są w odświętne stroje. Siedzący między nimi nauczyciel jest w średnim wieku, w okularach i z wąsem, ubrany jest w garnitur i jasną koszulę. Po jego obu stronach siedzą dwie nauczycielki ubrane w podobne, skromne, czarne suknie z wysokimi stójkami. Trzecia nauczycielka stoi na boku drugiego rzędu dziewcząt. Ubrana jest w kraciastą bluzkę i długą, ciemną spódnicę
