The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)

Fotografia przedstawia rodzinę pozującą do zdjęcia na podwórzu wiejskim. Kobieta i mężczyzna siedzą na krzesłach w jesienno-zimowej odzieży, kobieta trzyma na kolanach kilkuletnie dziecko w kraciastym płaszczyku. Za nimi stoi dwóch podobnych do siebie chłopaków (jeden starszy, drugi młodszy)

The photo depicts a family posing for the photo in a farm yard. A woman and a man are sitting in chairs dressed in autumn-winter clothes; the woman is holding in her lap a small child in a chequer coat. Standing behind them there are two similarly looking boys (an older and a younger one)
