Herb layer production, moss and lichen biomass, and the plant fall from trees and shrubs was studied in Cladonio-Pinetum Kobendza 1930 association in the Kampinos National Park near Warsaw in 1967. These investigations form part of an extensive research programme on the biological production of terrestrial ecosystems, carried out in a large number of forest associations in northern Poland by the Institute of Ecology, under the International Biological Programme.
