Nieruchomości stanowią ważny element majątku narodowego i podlegają regułom gospodarki rynkowej. Zarządzanie nimi jest szczególnie trudne i wymaga specyficznych umiejętności, głębokiej wiedzy oraz dostępu do aktualnych informacji. Informacji takich może dostarczyć zintegrowany system katastralny, nad którym w Polsce są prowadzone prace przygotowawcze. Szczególna rola w zakresie zarządzania nieruchomościami przypada samorządom gminnym.

Estates are the main resource of the country’s economy. They are special commodities to which a great importance should be attached. It is a very complex issue requiring interdisciplinary knowledge. In particular, a council plays an important role. In addition, the estate market has a distinct specificity which differentiates it from other goods, that is, estates are both the investment and financial objects. An integrated cadastral system which nowadays is being prepared should meet such needs and involve three main information systems such as: the cadastral land register along with the register of properties and their assessment, cadastral of books for perpetual use, fiscal cadastral containing files about tax payers, the subject and basis for tax paying.
