Obrazy Kaukazu w twórczości wybranych pisarzy rosyjskich XIX wieku.

The diploma work concentrates on the image of the Caucasus created by Russian writers in the 19th century. The first chapter presents the works of Alexander Pushkin, written during the period of his fascination with the Caucasus. Thanks to one of those works - the poem „The Prisoner of the Caucasus” - the land was discovered by a wider public audience. The second chapter provides an overview of the Caucasus based on the works of such writers as Mikhail Lermontow, Leo Tolstoy and Alexander Bestuzhev-Marlinsky and the group of peripheral writers. The overview of the Caucasus consists of aesthetic, ideological, political and several other factors. Apart from the individual viewpoints and the attitude – positive or negative – towards the Caucasus, in 19th century Russia, the subject arouse the interest, and in consequence – controversy and debate, not only in the area of literature.

Praca dyplomowa koncentruje się wokół wizerunku Kaukazu wykreowanego przez pisarzy rosyjskich w XIX wieku. Pierwszy rozdział poświęcony jest temu okresowi twórczości Aleksandra Puszkina, w którym, zafascynowany Kaukazem, stworzył taki utwór jak „Jeniec kaukaski”, odkrywając tym samym tę krainę przed szerszym gronem odbiorców. W drugim rozdziale można znaleźć przekrojowy obraz Kaukazu, stworzony na podstawie twórczości autorów takich jak Michaił Lermontow, Lew Tołstoj czy Aleksandr Bestużew-Marliński oraz grupy pisarzy, którzy w mniejszym stopniu zajmowali się tą tematyką. Na obraz ten składają się aspekty estetyczny, ideologiczny, polityczny oraz kilka innych. Niezależnie od zajmowanego stanowiska i stosunku – pozytywnego czy negatywnego – do Kaukazu, w dziewiętnastowiecznej Rosji wzbudzał on duże zainteresowanie, a przez to również kontrowersje i dyskusje, nie tylko w sferze literackiej.
