Świat -igrzysko ironisty. Rozważania o "Soli ziemi" Józefa Wittlina

Praca Wojciecha S. Wocława jest poświęcona zagadnieniu ironii w "Soli ziemi" Józefa Wittlina. Autor we wstępie prezentuje współczesne sposoby postrzegania i opisywania ironii. W dalszej części pracy analizie poddane zostają: budowa świata przedstawionego powieści Wittlina, sposób prowadzenia narracji, kreacje głównych bohaterów. Autor przedstawia również swoisty „słownik” figur ironii, którymi posługuje się Wittlin. Wocław stawia tezę, że ironiczna budowa "Soli ziemi" nie wynika ze zwykłego posługiwania się retoryką, lecz znajduje swoje ufundowanie w światopoglądzie ironisty-autora książki. Ostatni rozdział to spojrzenie na całość twórczości Józefa Wittlina w jubileuszowym dla pisarza roku (w 2011 przypada 115 rocznica urodzin Wittlina, 75 – wydania "Soli ziemi" oraz 35 – śmierci).

This thesis treats of the irony in Joseph Wittlin’s The Salt of The Earth. The author focused on presenting some contemporary views of irony. He tries to read The Salt of The Earth as an example of creating an ironic vision of the world represents in the text. In his thesis, the author talks about the world of The Salt of The Earth, about the narration and the position of the narrator. He also writes about characters who appear in the world of Wittlin’s book and about the ‘figures of irony’. In the conclusion the author tries to show that Wittlin’s irony is a type of perception and description of the world. Wittlin who was taking part in the First World War chooses irony as a mode of writing, of representing the world and of thinking about the world because that let him say more (than for example in his essays) and in the same time he could save his own vision of the world.
