Seduction of the reader in Ernst Jüngers war diaries

Verführung des Lesers in Ernst Jüngers "In Stahlgewittern" und "Strahlungen"

The aim of this master's thesis is to present the strategies used by Ernst Jünger to seduce the reader in his war diaries "In Stahlgewittern" and "Strahlungen". In the thesis all criteria, which are indispensable to be met while the act of seducing through the literature, have been defined. They have also been related to some specific examples found in Jünger's works. All aspects like the author's style of writing, vocabulary, the way of depicting military operations and finally the figure of Jünger himself have been thoroughly analysed. What is more, in the master's thesis it has been examined the influence of analysed texts on the emotional sphere of the reader, their behaviour and the way they perceive reality.

Przedmiotem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest ukazanie strategii, za pomocą których Ernst Jünger uwodzi czytelnika w swoich dziennikach wojennych „In Stahlgewittern” i „Strahlungen”. Zdefiniowano w niej kryteria niezbędne do spełnienia podczas uwodzenia poprzez literaturę i odniesiono je do konkretnych przykładów w dziełach Jüngera. Analizie zostają poddane: styl pisania autora, słownictwo, sposób przedstawiania działań wojennych oraz samej postaci Ernsta Jüngera. Ponadto w pracy zbadano wpływ analizowanych tekstów na sferę emocjonalną czytelnika, jego zachowanie oraz sposób postrzegania rzeczywistości.
