Czy geny prowadzą kulturę na smyczy? Co decyduje o naturze ludzkiej.

The problem of human nature for centuries pervades not only philosophers but also scientists, theologians and ordinary people. Human being is an object of interest of both the human and natural sciences. There are many ideas trying to penetrate the meaning of human existence and to find its essence. Despite this, we still can not unambiguously answer the question: "What determines human nature?".Among the theories about human nature, we can find extremely different views. So we have those who believe that human nature is innate, and everyone, without exception, has it already at birth. There are also people who argue that we come into the world without having "the thing" that makes us human, and only acquire it in the course of socialization.This paper confronts these two views. It examines human nature from the point of view of cultural anthropology, sociobiology, and memetics. It tries to answer the question: "do genes whether genes hold culture on a leash?" and how long the leash is.

Problem natury ludzkiej od wieków nurtuje nie tylko filozofów, ale także naukowców, teologów i zwykłych ludzi. Człowiek jest przedmiotem zainteresowania zarówno nauk humanistycznych jak i przyrodniczych. Powstało wiele koncepcji próbujących przeniknąć sens ludzkiej egzystencji i znaleźć jej esencję. Mimo tego nadal nie potrafimy jednoznacznie odpowiedzieć na pytanie „co decyduje o ludzkiej naturze?”. Wśród teorii dotyczących natury ludzkiej możemy znaleźć skrajnie różne poglądy. Mamy zatem tych, którzy uważają, że natura ludzka jest wrodzona i każdy, bez wyjątku, posiada ją już w chwili narodzin. Są także tacy, którzy twierdzą, że przychodzimy na świat nie posiadając tego, co czyni nas ludźmi, a dopiero nabywamy to w trakcie socjalizacji. Praca konfrontuje ze sobą te dwa skraje stanowiska. Rozpatruje naturę człowieka z punktu widzenia antropologii kulturowej, socjobiologii i memetyki. Podejmuje próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie "czy to geny prowadzą kulturę na smyczy?" i jak długa ta smycz jest.
