Przedstawia krótką historię tej formy prawnej ukazując główne tendencje w rozwoju oraz przedstawiając fakty historyczne mające kluczowe znaczenie dla ewolucji tworu gospodarczego jakim jest spółka akcyjna. The paper brings closer and describes problems associated with corporate rights of shareholders in public companies and public limited companies. It starts with short description of history of this legal form, showing main tendencies in its development and presenting key milestones that has affected the process significantly. Afterwards, the paper presents the shareholder and one's rights and privileges on the general meeting. The next chapter deals with the matter of rights resulting from the number of stock capital represented by single shareholder. All key-issues presented by the paper are deepened in the last practical chapter where the matters are described using the example of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. and the company's internal documents (ex. articles of association of a joint-stock company and general meeting regulations).
