This paper analyzes the perception of the J.Amado in the Poland. First describes the history of Brazilian literature, then the writer's biography and his works.Objective of this thesis is, determine the cause of the popularity J.Amado’s books in Poland. To answer this question, I analyze the reviews and criticism about the writer that I have found in the Polish magazines and newspapers.

Po pierwsze przdstawiam mały zarys historii literatury brazylijskiej, następnie opisuję twórczość i biografię pisarza.Celem tej pracy jest-wyjaśnienie przyczyny popularności książek J.Amado w Polsce. Żeby rozwiązać to zadanie, dokonuję analizy recenzji i krytyki dotyczących pisarza, które znałazłam w polskich czasopismach.
