Historia pokolenia Flauberta w "Szkole uczuć"

The MA thesis analyzes the image of the 1848 generation represented in Gustave Flaubert`s novel “Sentimental Education”. The introduction discusses theoretical issues of so called contemporary novel and Flaubert`s ideas about history and historiography. Chapter One investigates a historical period from 1840 to 1851 showed in “Sentimental Education”. Chapter Two describes Flaubert`s attitude to his times. Chapter Three analyses the representation of writer`s generation, it presents the study of fictional personages and particular social groups as well as emphasizes the importance of discussions and political visions in the novel.

W pracy zanalizowano obraz pokolenia 1848 przedstawiony w „Szkole uczuć” Gustave`a Flauberta. We wstępie pokazano teoretyczne zagadnienia tzw. powieści współczesnej oraz koncepcje Flauberta na temat historii i historiografii. Pierwszy rozdział poświęcony został epoce historycznej ukazanej w „Szkole uczuć” obejmującej lata 1840-1851. W drugim rozdziale omówiono postawę autora wobec jego czasów. W trzecim rozdziale zbadano zaprezentowany w powieści obraz pokolenia Flauberta, który obejmuje zarówno analizę postaci fikcyjnych jak i określonych grup społecznych, zwracając uwagę również na rolę dyskusji i wizji politycznych w powieści.

Dans notre mémoire de maîtrise nous analysons l’image de la génération 1848 représentée dans « L’Education sentimentale ». L’introduction porte sur les caractéristiques du « roman contemporain » ainsi que sur les idées de Flaubert concernant l’histoire et l’historiographie. Dans le Chapitre 1 nous présentons la période histiorique de 1840 à 1851, décrite dans « L’Education sentimentale ». Le Chapitre 2 expose l’attidude critique de l’auteur envers son époque. Dans le Chapitre 3 nous étudions la représentation de la génération de Flaubert en examinant aussi bien les personnages fictifs que les groupes sociaux particuliers et cherchons à monter l’importance des discours et des visions politiques dans le roman.
