Globalny wymiar neoliberalizmu w myśli Waltera Lippmanna.

Subject of this work is Global neoliberalism in the thought of Walter Lippmann. There are three main elements which are the subject of analysis in subsequent chapters of the work. The key idea in this structure is the concept of neoliberalism, understood as economic and political doctrine, drawing on the achievements of classical liberalism. The author focused on the analysised of thought, one of the forerunners of this idea, an American journalist and columnist Walter Lippmann. His views are shown in comparison with other representatives of this type of political and philosophical thought. Finally, the third element, is the global aspects of the presented issue. On one the hand, liberal ideas, as well as neoliberal, have a universal dimension, that is not limited by geographical or temporal categories. Their demands can be applied in a broader sense than just hermetic political community. Moreover, the basic categories they use, for example: “market” or “freedom” are recognized around the world. On the other hand, Lippmann himself in his reflection extends beyond the territory of the United States of America. His thought it was set in the context of processes over almost the whole world.The work is divided into four chapters. In the first set are the most important events of the interwar period: the end of the first world war and reconstruction of the global economy, the Great Crisis of year 1929 - 1933 and attempts to exit from the recession. They are a direct cause of the birth of neoliberal doctrine. The second chapter is an attempt to make a taxonomy of concepts related to the presented idea and presenting it in a historical perspective. In the further part, author presented the genesis of neo-liberalism and its main demands. Chapter three, is entirely devoted to the analysis the thought of Lippmann. The author describes the three main elements, relating to: the economic system, problems of a democratic state and public philosophy. In addition, is presented biographical note of Lippmann. The last chapter deals with the concept of international order in thought of Lippmann. Presented are two positions: idealism, associated with the figure of president Wilson and the political realism.

Temat niniejszej pracy to Globalny wymiar neoliberalizmu w myśli Waltera Lippmanna. Wskazuje on na trzy główne elementy będące przedmiotem analizy w kolejnych rozdziałach pracy. Kluczowym w tej konstrukcji, jest pojęcie neoliberalizm, rozumiane, jako doktryna ekonomiczna i polityczna czerpiąca z dorobku liberalizmu klasycznego. Autor skupi się na analizie myśli, jednego z prekursorów tej idei, amerykańskiego dziennikarza i publicysty Waltera Lippmanna. Jego poglądy pokazane będą na tle innych przedstawicieli tego typu refleksji polityczno - filozoficznej. Wreszcie trzeci element, to globalny aspekty prezentowanego zagadnienia. Z jednej strony idee liberalne, jak i neoliberalne, mają wymiar uniwersalny, to znaczy nie są ograniczona kategoriami geograficznymi czy czasowymi. Ich postulaty mogą być stosowane w szerszym zakresie, niż tylko hermetyczna wspólnota polityczna. Ponadto podstawowe kategorie, jakimi się posługują, na przykład wolność czy rynek są rozpoznawane na całym świecie. Z drugiej strony, sam Lippmann w swojej refleksji wykraczał poza obszar Stanów Zjednoczonych Ameryki. Myśl jego zawsze osadzona była w kontekście procesów zachodzących, bez mała na całym globie. Praca została podzielona na cztery rozdziały. W pierwszym przedstawione zostają najważniejsze wydarzenia dwudziestolecia międzywojennego: koniec I wojny świtowej i odbudowa globalnej gospodarki, wielki Kryzys lat 1929 – 1933 oraz próby wyjścia z recesji. Stanowią one bezpośrednią przyczynę narodzin doktryny neoliberalnej. Drugi rozdział to próba dokonania systematyki pojęć związanych z prezentowaną ideą oraz ukazanie jej w perspektywie historycznej. W dalszej części przedstawiona jest geneza neoliberalizmu i jego najważniejsze postulaty. Rozdział trzeci, w całości poświecony zostaje analizie myśli Lippmanna. Autor opisał jej trzy główne elementy, odnoszące się do: sytemu gospodarczego, problemów demokratycznego państwa i filozofii publicznej. Ponadto zaprezentowana zostaje nota biograficzna Lippmanna. Ostatni rozdział dotyczy koncepcji ładu międzynarodowego w myśli Lippmanna. Przedstawione zostały tutaj dwa stanowiska: idealizm, związany z postacią prezydenta Wilsona oraz realizm polityczny.
