Mikhail Lermontov's 'A Song about Tsar Ivan Vasilyevish, the Young Oprichnik, and the Valorous Merchant Kalashnikov' is an entirely romantic poem, beginning from its origin and biography of its author, through historic plot, creations of the characters, conception of the nature and on references on folklore ending. Taking notice on the folklore was the most typical feature of Russian romantism. Lermontov avoided the traps of imitation and he created one of the most wonderful epic in Russian literature of XIXth century.
