Politykowanie Architektury: Jak Warszawianie Reagowali na Odbudowę Warszawy

This thesis is a study of the rebuilding of Warsaw post WWII and how the people of Warsaw responded to the reconstruction of their city. It discusses the Socialist Realist ideology which influenced the design of the buildings and the layout of the city. Through using a variety of sources -newspaper articles, personal diaries, and literature -it aims to build up a picture of how the people of Warsaw responded to the architecture and urban layout of their rebuilt city. The findings are discussed within the framework of concepts about home, sense of place, displacement and memory.
